Who are your musicial influences?

Personally, Black Sabbath, Led Zep, T Rex, Pantera and loads more.

How did Devilskin form and when?

The band formed in 2010, we all knew each other from various bands around our hometown, (Hamilton New Zealand), we were and still are, big fans of each others work. Nic joined the band when he replaced our original drummer in 2011, he was just 15. I threatened to ground him unless he helped us out on a tour and we never looked back, he's a real asset to the band and as a father I couldn't be more proud.

Whats the story behind the bands name?

It comes from an idea I had reading some of Jennies lyrics and how people can wear whatever 'skin' they want other people to see/think they are.

Do any of you have any pre show rituals?

We all do. We all like to find our 'zen' place before playing. Jennie does vocal exercises, Nail likes to iron clothes while listening to Whitesnake and drinking Jack, Nic stretches and drums on EVERYTHING! I like a few shots of tequila and chilling to Randy Rhoads playing guitar.

In your personal lives, who is your biggest influence?

I guess we would all say our parents ultimately.

What is the hardest thing about being on tour?

Missing our loved ones!

What is the strangest thing you have ever autographed?

Bums, boobs, babies, beer cans, wheelchairs, cars and other bands' cds!

Are your lyrics very personal or about everyday life?

More personal observations of every day life, relationships and feelings.

Jennie and I write all the lyrics, sometimes together, sometimes separately.

We click really well and Jennie has an incredible gift for melody.

Any advice for people wanting to start a band?

Don't stop believing!
